Sources we review

We cross-check vendor advisories, official releases, public source code, JVN, JPCERT/CC, IPA, NVD, GitHub Advisory Database, and other sources. Secondary reporting is treated as a lead; important conditions and mitigations are checked against primary sources.

AI assists collection and organization. Sources, affected conditions, and uncertainties are stated and corrected as needed. Impact varies by deployment, so ultimately check official guidance and actual running versions.

Meaning of timestamps and counts

Each report's “cutoff time” defines the investigation boundary. It is not the page publication time or incident occurrence time. Actual retrieval may occur after the cutoff, and content from that retrieval time is stored.

We distinguish occurrence, detection, disclosure, database registration, revision, and retrieval. Same-day material whose publication time cannot be verified is separated as reference information. Vulnerability counts, advisory counts, and numbers of discussion points are not directly treated as counts of damaging incidents.

Verifying fixes and recovery

Source code fixes, availability of fixed releases, deployment to user environments, compromise investigations, and service recovery are distinct stages. Do not describe plans as completed; when the minimum fixed version is unknown, say so.

Corrections and original evidence

We retain records for each investigation time and provide links from new reports to previous records. We publish URLs, retrieval dates and times, SHA-256 hashes of stored content, and failed retrievals so they can be checked later. Rights to retrieved originals remain with their respective holders; we do not reinterpret them as covered by this site's own license.
